10-12 slices of white bread (crusts removed)
3 eggs
2 cups of half and half
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Dash of ground nutmeg
Filling:
8 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 can (16 ounces) peach halves, drained
Directions:
Arrange half of bread in bottom of greased 11 by 7 inch glass baking dish. In medium bowl, beat eggs, half and half, sugar and vanilla. Pour half of egg mixture over bread. In separate bowl, beat filling ingredients (except peaches) and pour evenly over layer of bread in pan. Cut peach halves horizontally into 1/4 inch slices; place over filling. Arrange remaining bread slices over peaches. Pour remaining egg mixture over bread. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Cover and refrigerate overnight. To cook, preheat oven to 350 F. Keep covered and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer or until puffy and golden brown. Serve warm with maple syrup if desired. Enjoy!!
