Flower Fields are Open!!

The beautiful ranunculus flowers are in bloom at the Flower Fields in Carlsbad. So beautiful!  Come stay at the Pelican Cove Inn and enjoy this gorgeous breath of spring.  The fields are located a short drive down the coast from the Inn.  Spring has sprung!

Time for the Summer Decor!

All the Easter decorations are put away!  Time to move on to the summer/beach theme for the next few months.  Love my new pelican given to me by a dear friend.  A lovely addition to my pelican collection.

New Gelato Shop In Carlsbad!!

We have a wonderful new Gelato shop here in Carlsbad.  I had the pleasure of trying it out today and it was fabulous!! It is located in the Village of Carlsbad in the Village Fair Shopping Center.  It is called Gaia Gelato and their website is http://gaiagelato.com .  Give it a try next time you visit Carlsbad!

This is the pelican that is a part of the beautiful mural painted by Skye Walker that is on the side of the Carlsbad Boys and Girls club.  It is so nice that the Carlsbad has so many of these lovely murals around town for all of us to enjoy!

Beautiful Pelican Painting!

This beautiful Pelican Painting was found for me by a friend at the Leucadia Street Fair.  What great colors!  The artist is Karin Grow.  Now I just need to find the perfect frame!

Our Beautiful Beaches

Sweet Romance

It is so sweet when guests take the time to organize special things for their loved ones.  We are happy to arrange for anything you would like us to have waiting for you in the room when you arrive.  This sweet couple had chocolates, flowers and champagne in their room upon arrival.  So nice to see people treating each other so well.

Art in the Village

Our little Village of Carlsbad has had some positive changes in the past few years.  Not to say it was ever a bad place to be...it has always been great!  But, one of the additions to our great Village atmosphere are the beautiful art murals that have popped up all over town.  These three pieces were done by a local artist.  You can view more of his work on his website .  Next time you come to Carlsbad, take the time to look around...you may see some amazing artwork in unexpected places!

The Flower Fields of Carlsbad are open and will soon be in full bloom. Christmas Gnome

This adorable Christmas Gnome is keeping watch  over the lobby during the holiday season.  He was sent all the way from Norway and was made by my cousin, Maritt Smenes.  He fits over a wine bottle and is the perfect little greeter full of Christmas cheer.
