We are so lucky to have the Coaster Commuter Rail http://www.gonctd.com/ within walking distance of our Inn. It is so convenient to take the Coaster down to Petco Park and watch a game. The Pelican Cove Inn is fortunate to be located walking distance to some wonderful wine tasting opportunities. The Witch Creek Winery tasting room http://www.witchcreekwinery.com/ has been located here in the Village of Carlsbad for many years and offers wine tasting daily. We also are privileged to have two French restaurants, Le Passage Bistro http://www.lepassagefrenchbistro.net/ and Paon http://www.paoncarlsbad.com/ , which offer wine tasting and extraordinary dining experiences. Both have lovely outdoor patios that create a romantic ambiance without being at all pretentious. Le Passage has a wine shop called Vintage, Taste the Grape that allows you to select wine to have with your meal. New Carlsbad Beach Grill Restaurant...Yum!!

We are so lucky to have such a great variety of restaurants up the the Village of Carlsbad and now we have one more!! The Carlsbad Beach Grill http://www.carlsbadbeachgrill.net/ recently opened. This is a picture of the Veggie Burger that a friend had. We also tried the Fish Tacos, a Spicy Burger and Fried Zucchini all of which were really good. Nice selection of wine and beer. Give it a try when you are in town!

Mercury Insurance Women's Tennis At La Costa

Great tennis and the beach. What a combination! The Mercury Insurance Women's Tennis Open http://www.mercuryinsuranceopen.com/ will be held at La Costa Resort here in Carlsbad from July 31st to August 8th 2010. The resort is about 10 minutes away from the Pelican Cove and we still have rooms available for some of these dates. Come stay at the beach and enjoy some terrific tennis!

The Counter in Carlsbad

This is a fun place to eat. The Counter in Carlsbad www.thecounterburger.com/CarlsbadCA/ is a great family restaurant that has opened in the Forum Shopping center www.theforumshopping.com/dsp_Carlsbad_Stores.cfm . Try the onion strings. They are terrific! Great food and great shopping in one destination.
